PSOLA, ESOLA, MBROLA, oh my! Designing a pitch shifting algorithm from the ground up for use in a realtime vocal harmonizer instrument

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Pitch shifting is a deep topic with many applications, from AutoTune to creating the voices of Alvin and the Chipmunks. There is a large body of scholarly work available on this topic, but most of it is filled with dense formulae incomprehensible to non-mathematicians. This talk will walk through each step in the pitch-shifting process, breaking down these formulas into simpler concepts and including code examples, concluding with how these concepts are being applied in a new vocal harmonizer instrument currently under development.

IF YOU ARE ATTENDING ONLINE, ALL TALK SESSIONS CAN BE ACCESSED FROM THE MAIN LOBBY: https://conference.audio.dev

I'm a self-taught C++ developer. I love pitch detection and pitch shifting algorithms, but I also love working with CMake and devops systems.
