Today's common adaptive music techniques often still fall short when it comes to melodic or orchestral video game scores.

Can you hear the transition to another track? Or an instrument fading in? That's the sound of a system at work.

In this talk, Kejero will explain how he designed a system that doesn't use transitions. He will show how they implemented it in Starship Troopers: Terran Command, which required a massive orchestral score. Music that can switch between calm and chaotic in a heartbeat, yet still sounds like one cohesive, intentional piece of music.
