Over the years, many software developers have figured out ingenuous ways to integrate with the Pro Tools environment to deliver some of today’s most compelling workflow-enhancing tools, relied on by audio professionals the world over. But these necessary workflows far too often came at the cost of performance and reliability. Recognizing the huge potential for innovation driven by third-party audio developers, the Pro Tools team embarked on a journey to create and deliver a wide spectrum of APIs to facilitate the creation of tomorrow’s audio and music workflows. In this session, we will give ADC 2022 attendees an early look at upcoming Pro Tools APIs, allowing for scripting and automation of the Pro Tools application, as well as present concepts of additional SDKs in the works (Satellite SDK, Clip FX SDK, Session SDK and more). The Avid audio team is committed to a new era of openness, and we hope this session will drive much needed conversation around the needs of the community for deeper integration with Pro Tools.
